The facts

  • Cirquu has opened public sign-ups for its AI-powered business management platform, according to TechCabal. Before this it operated for about a year through private placements.
  • The Starter plan costs ₦9,000 ($6.70) a month and covers CRM, point-of-sale, inventory, e-commerce and accounting. The Growth plan costs ₦15,000 ($11.10) and adds HR, payroll, analytics and workflows.
  • Founder and CEO Michael Njoku announced the launch at Moonshot by TechCabal in Lagos on Wednesday, October 28. The first 100 sign-ups get three months free.
  • Njoku says Cirquu runs its own AI and keeps customer data inside each user's workspace. TechCabal notes he gave no technical details on hosting or data isolation, so those claims are unverified.

Case notes · Danny's take

Why it matters

Most small businesses in Lagos run on a messy mix of apps, spreadsheets and WhatsApp. One workspace at a few thousand naira a month is an easy pitch. But cheap software is only half the question. Sales records, payroll and customer data are the most sensitive things a business owns. A claim that data stays private is not evidence. Ask to see how it works before you move your books.

For builders

Cirquu is competing with Zoho and Sage by designing for local tax, HR and data protection rules, and by integrating with local banks. That is the gap to watch. If you build business tools in Africa, local compliance and bank integrations are the moat. Generic features are not.

Not financial advice. Do your own investigation.
